FT Nanny Manager Needed for Two Children in Wilmette, to begin in August at the latest

  • Two children, both will be in elementary school in September
  • Monday through  Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30. Flexibility to stay overnight or late when one or both parents are traveling.
  • $21-23 hour; paid holidays and vacation.
  • Nanny should drive and have a safe driving record. For the right applicant, a car would be available for on the job responsibilities, but ideally, nanny should have a clean, serviceable vehicle with proof of insurance and room for two car seats.
  • One parent will be working from home part time. Nanny should be comfortable with this arrangement.
  • Family is hoping to have the same nanny for a long time. Someone should be interested in being a part of the family and be willing to grow with the family as their needs change.
  • The ideal candidate should have verifiable experience working with toddlers on up. Should be college educated, preferably in early childhood education, psychology, nursing or related field. Excellent written and spoken English. Someone who is amazing with young children: can have fun and organize play dates and activities. Can strike a balance between having fun and maintaining structure. Should follow the philosophy of positive reinforcement. Should be fit and active and appreciate healthy food. Should know how to prepare healthy, tasty recipes. Someone who is prompt; reliable; dependable and safety conscious. Should be very proactive: should be willing to help out around the house. The ideal candidate should know what needs to be done and be willing to pitch in and do whatever is needed.
  • Responsibilities include all care of the children: feeding; driving the children to and from school and activities. Should be able to organize and participate in car pools, as needed and with the knowledge and consent of the parents. Preparing meals and packing lunches. Should have ideas for fun, yet educationally appropriate activities for both children. 
  • Additional responsibilities will include organizing toys and clothing for the children; family laundry as needed; shopping for meals; doing errands, and general upkeep of the house.
  • Nanny will also be responsible for washing dishes; loading and unloading dishwasher; wiping down kitchen surfaces; sweeping/vacuuming any messes. Helping children to keep their rooms and belongings clean and picked up. In general, nanny should be committed to keeping common areas of the house tidy and picked up.
