FT Nanny/Nanny Manager Needed for Two Children in Lincoln Park, to begin in July

  • Three children, one in school with activities; one in preschool, with activities. A baby is expected in the fall.
  • Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; extreme flexibility is required. Both parents are busy and last minute obligations may occur. Additionally, nanny may need to stay with the children overnight if both parents are out of town.
  • Travel with the family is required a few times per year. 
  • 65/70k per year and up, DOE, plus benefits. 
  • Nanny should drive and have a safe driving record. Nanny should supply a clean, safe, serviceable vehicle with proof of insurance and room for two car seats. Parking is available for the nanny's car. A vehicle can be provided for the right applicant. 
  • Family has a medium size, loving dog. Nanny should like dogs and not have allergies. The dog is very much a part of the family.
  • One parent is in and out of the house. Nanny should be comfortable with this arrangement.
  • The ideal candidate is loving; devoted; dedicated to her position. She/he should be trustworthy; even tempered; energetic; encouraging; empathetic, yet able to maintain structure. He/she should be active and able to keep up with a busy, active household.
  • Family is looking for someone who is interested in a long term position and wants to become a part of the family. Nanny should be proactive, with a take charge attitude, yet able to work as a team with the parents.
  • Should be very organized, and able to maintain the schedule of a busy family. Needs to understand that he/she is an extension of the parents, and be able to go with the flow. Discreet. A high attention to detail. Nanny should have the knowledge of when to be proactive and when it is prudent to be in the background.
  • Further, the ideal candidate is a professional nanny with long term verifiable nanny experience. 
  • Responsibilities will include all care and supervision of the children, keeping them safe at all times. Feeding; dressing; nap/rest time; fun, yet educationally appropriate activities, for both indoors and outside. Oversee all children's activities, and manage all details---maintaining the schedule; making sure children have necessary supplies for school and activities; transporting children to and from any activities, school, etc.
  • Nanny should participate fully in any activities with the children, as needed. Should enjoy being with the children and interacting with them. Assist children with manners, etiquette, and respect for others. Nanny should communicate with parents throughout the day.Provide advice and guidance when asked, but also be understanding that the final decision rests with the parents.
  • Additional responsibilities include maintenance of the household. Washing dishes; loading and unloading the dishwasher; wiping down kitchen surfaces; sweeping/vacuuming any messes, as needed. Children's laundry and bedding; helping children learn to keep their rooms neat.
  • Maintain order with respect to children's belongings, e.g., keeping clothes in good order; giving away any clothes that are not needed; making sure toys are safely put away, etc. Keeping areas of the house tidy and picked up, clearing table after meals, etc.. Preparing meals; helping to make a grocery list; shopping; errands; other household maintenance; overseeing vendors.
