FT Nanny Needed for Two Children in River Forest, to begin in late August

  • Two children, a preschooler and a toddler. Older child has asthma.
  • $16 to $22/hour plus (depending on experience) at 40 hours per week Monday through Thursday. Family will consider offering 50 hours Monday through Friday and a higher compensation based on the needs/qualifications of the applicant. Generous benefit package including paid vacation, holiday, and sick/personal days.
  • Start date no later than Sept 11, 2017. 
  • Nanny should drive and have a safe driving record. A car would be provided for on the job opportunities. Parking is readily available for the nanny's car.
  • Family has a cat. Nanny should like cats and not have allergies in the family.
  • Family believes in play based learning, and it is hoped that the nanny would share this philosophy. Honest; punctual; hard working; proactive; self motivated and active. Should be able to provide structure, yet be able to be flexible, if needed. Active; should enjoy playing outdoors, and walking to activities within the neighborhood. Caring and nurturing. 
  • Family is hoping to have the same nanny for a long time.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Responsibilities include all care of the children: feeding meals and snacks; changing; helping with potty training; dressing; naps; providing educational, yet fun, activities for both children (inside and outside activities).
  • Nanny should actively involve the children in household maintenance, e.g. picking up toys; helping with meal preparation; cleaning up their dishes after meals, etc.
  • Nanny will be responsible for light housekeeping and laundry. Nanny should be able to determine what needs to be done, and be willing to help.
