FT Nanny Needed for Baby on Near North Side, to begin December
Part Time to Full Time
FT 4 day a week nanny for adorable baby on Near North Side, to begin in December
Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; occasional hours evenings and weekends highly desirable, but not required.
$15-$17/hour; paid holidays and vacation
Driving is nice, but not necessary. If nanny drives, she should have a safe driving record. Parking could be arranged for the nanny's car, if needed.
Mother works out of the house, but will likely transition to working out of the house. Nanny should be comfortable with this arrangement.
The ideal candidate has verifiable long term experience working with infants on up. She/he should genuinely love the company of children, and be interested in a long term position. Nanny should really want to be a nanny, and be invested in staying with the family. Safety conscious; reliable; respectful; organized; and able to deal with the unexpected. He/she should know CPR and first aid (or be willing to take the necessary classes to obtain certification). Proactive; willing to pitch in and help the family. The ideal candidate speaks fluent Spanish, but should still have excellent spoken and written English.
Responsibilities include all care of the child: feeding; diapering; changing, if needed; bathing, if needed; naps. Helping child with general hygiene. Assisting with language acquisition and development. Reading to the child; singing to the child. Taking the child to parks and playgrounds, weather permitting. Taking child on special outings to children's activities; museums and the zoo. It is understood that as the child grows, the scope of responsibilities will change; nanny should be equipped to deal with the changing stages and needs of the child.
Additional responsibilities include washing bottles and dishes; preparing meals and snacks for the child; loading and unloading the dishwasher; wiping down kitchen surfaces; sweeping/vacuuming floors, as needed. Laundry. Keeping child's room tidy and picked up. Washing the toys. Keeping common areas of the house tidy and picked up.
