PT Nanny Needed Three Days a Week for Baby in Lincoln Park, to begin the last week in September
Three Days a Week, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. 28-30 hours/week. Days of the week will be fixed, but family is flexible as to which days of the week work best for the family and the nanny.
$17-$19.50/hour; paid holidays and vacation.
Driving is a plus, but not strictly required. If nanny drives, she should have a verifiable safe driving record. Possibility of a car for on the job needs; however, it would be ideal if the nanny could provide a clean, safe, serviceable vehicle with proof of insurance and room for one or more car seats, as family grows. Parking is available for the nanny's car.
Mother works from home, and initially would like to nurse the baby during the work day. On occasion, mother will travel or have meetings outside the home. Nanny should be comfortable with this arrangement.
Family has one small, non shedding dog. Family employs a dog walker, so no extraordinary care is required of the dog. However, nanny should like dogs, and not have allergies.
Nanny should be interested in a long term position with a loving family. Highly competent. Kind; caring; trustworthy; reliable. Prompt and dependable. Nanny should be highly experienced and willing to share their expertise, while also being deferential to the parenting style and preferences of the parents. Nanny should help maintain a schedule for the baby in respect to eating, napping, etc. Excellent written and spoken English; a knowledge of Spanish is also a plus.
Responsibilities include all care of the baby: feeding; changing; napping, and maintaining the schedule. Reading to the baby; singing to the baby. Tummy time. Nanny should have a knowledge of fun, yet developmentally educational activities to encourage optimal development. As baby grows, nanny should be adept at additional responsibilities, such as starting solids (and preparing the food); finding classes and activities for the child; walks in the neighborhood, to playgrounds, and other activities, weather permitting. A knowledge of both indoor and outdoor activities, such as crafts, music, nature walks, etc.
Additional responsibilities include washing bottles and dishes; loading and unloading the dishwasher; wiping down kitchen surfaces; sweeping/vacuuming up any messes as needed. Baby's laundry and bedding. Keeping baby's room, as well as common areas of the house, tidy and picked up. Nanny should be proactive, and willing to do what is needed to help the family.
