PT 3 day a week nanny needed for toddler on Near North Side, to begin immediately
3 days a week, flexibility on which days per week. Start time is 9 am, end time can be 5 pm or 6 pm depending on applicant's needs. Possible, though infrequent evenings and weekends.
$15-$18/hour; paid personal time.
Driving is ideal, but not a requirement of the position. If nanny drives, nanny should have a clean driving record. Parking is available for the nanny's car.
The ideal candidate has verifiable experience working with toddlers on up. Positive; happy; fun; caring. Warm; respectful; honest A background in early childhood education would be ideal. Excellent written and spoken English. A knowledge of a second language--e.g. Spanish or Arabic--is highly desired.
Nanny should be responsible and dependable. Active and able to keep up with an active toddler. A knowledge of how to manage toddler behavior. Additionally, the nanny should have knowledge of fun, yet educational activities to encourage optimal development.
Responsibilities include all care of the toddler: feeding; changing; bathing, if needed; naps. Taking child to parks and other activities. As toddler grows, nanny should be able to accommodate child's changing needs.
Additional responsibilities include washing dishes; loading and unloading the dishwasher; wiping down kitchen surfaces; sweeping/vacuuming floors, if needed. Child's laundry and bedding. Keeping child's bedroom tidy and picked up. Keeping common areas of the house picked up. Nanny should be proactive and eager to help the family.
