FT Nanny Needed for Baby in North Center, to begin in January 2018
Care is for one baby.
Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.
$850-$950; paid vacation and sick days.
Driving is not a requirement of the position, but if nanny does drive, nanny should have a safe driving record.
Both parents occasionally work from home. Nanny should be comfortable with this arrangement.
Family lives in a second floor condo. Nanny should be able to take baby and stroller up and down the stairs. Active and fit.
The ideal candidate has verifiable experience working with infants on up. Reliable; prompt; proactive; trustworthy. A background in early childhood education or a related field, e.g. psychology; nursing; social work preferred. Nanny should have a knowledge of fun, yet developmentally appropriate activities designed to encourage optimal development. Excellent written and spoken English. Nanny should be comfortable following the schedule and philosophy of the parents, but also be able to provide suggestions or recommendations, if asked. Safety conscious and able to handle emergencies.
Responsibilities include all care of the baby: feeding; changing; naps; bathing, as needed. Tummy time. Reading to the child; singing to the child. Weather permitting, taking child on walks, etc. As child grows, nanny should be willing to take child to classes; play dates, etc. Nanny should be able to adapt to the child's changing needs as he/she grows.
Additional responsibilities include washing bottles and dishes; loading and unloading the dishwasher; wiping down kitchen surfaces; sweeping/vacuuming any messes, as needed. Child's laundry and bedding. Keeping the child's room and common areas of the house tidy and picked up.
